Informants
Main informant:
Mrs Elsie Harrison (a full-blooded Aboriginal woman from Boorooloola).
Other informants:
Two other Aboriginal men, whose names are not recorded, seem to have been present at the recording session. They are probably Johnson Charlie (a full-blooded Aboriginal) and Jack Shadforth (recorded as a "half-cast"). Johnson Charlie provided Garawa elicitation material and text and Jack Shadforth provided Garawa text on the same date and at the same location as when Mrs Harrison provided the Yanyula elicitation material. These three informants comprise Group 302. In the elicitation of the words for "man" and "woman", Mrs Harrison says "boy - like Johnson", which indicates his presence at the recording session. One of these men prompts and assists the main informant, and, on occasions, provides the Garawa word for particular items. The other takes part in some (background only) discussion with Mrs Harrison and the other informant.
