What is Women's Studies? (Note this major will be renamed Gender Studies in 2010)
Women's Studies is an exciting and continuously developing area that has been the focus of theoretical and practical innovation for many years. The University of Queensland has been at the forefront of these developments in Australia, and offers many interesting areas of study. It is a specialised field that brings innovative theory and research techniques to the study of women's lives, their status in society, and the dilemmas and contradictions in gender relations and sexualities.
