The Postcolonial Research Group was founded in 1986.
It consists of postgraduate students and staff from three universities
in Southern Queensland and meets regularly at the School of English, Media Studies and Art
History at The University of
Queensland to discuss general theoretical issues, recent
controversial texts and members' work in progress. It holds regular
international conferences on post-colonial topics and has instituted an
occasional publications series. The key aims of the group are to
encourage and facilitate staff
and postgraduate
research, both collaborative and individual.
